MDS Alumni and Program Director Q&A Virtual Information Sessions

Want to know what it is like to be a student in the UBC Master of Data Science program?

Join the UBC Master of Data Science (MDS) program as we will be hosting a series of virtual information events in December. Attendees will learn more about the student experience in the MDS program in Vancouver and the Okanagan as well as the Computational Linguistics program.

At this live panel, MDS alumni will:

  • Share their student experiences and learning at MDS
  • Talk about the accelerated 10-month program and unique curriculum format
  • Discuss how they’re applying their MDS degree in their fields
  • MDS Program Directors will answer any last minute admissions questions before the January 31 deadline
  • Answer your questions live.

  • MDS Okanagan: Wednesday December 2, 2026 - 12:30pm to 1:30pm PT

UBC Master of Data Science in the Age of AI

During our information session, we did an overview of the MDS Vancouver program including the curriculum, admissions process, tuition and funding opportunities, capstone and data science in the age of AI. As well, we discussed how the MDS Vancouver program has evolved its curriculum to help produce skilled professionals who can turn data into knowledge using Data Science and Artificial Intelligence methods.
