As much as I love languages, I also have a keen interest in a wide range of subjects, from engineering to philosophy and astronomy to economics. When ChatGPT took the world by storm in 2022, I naturally became interested in language technology. That was when I first learned about LLMs and computational linguistics.

Freya Kan holds a Bachelor’s in Language Interpretation and Translation from Hong Kong Baptist University. During her undergrad, Freya was taking mathematics and programming courses that sparked her interest in language technology. Freya applied to the MDS Computational Linguistics program because she liked how the program combined data science, computational linguistics with industry experience.
